Ever have those days when unnecessary drama is weighing you down??
Well, I've been having a couple of weeks of that. Blech
The best thing for me to do when I'm experiencing such "ick" is to get out in the garden and dig. I mean really work hard. And that is exactly what I did today. My body feels like someone ran me over with a truck, but my mind is clear. Being out in the garden and breaking a sweat really helps me put thoughts in my head into perspective. It just seems to bring order to my life.
To see my yard, some might wonder if I've had a lot of thoughts to ponder in the past.
The answer is YES :-)
This was a tiny stick transplant of Basil I planted in the Spring. Look how huge it is! The bees love it.
The sun was starting to set and really my body could not take anymore today, so I decided to stop and just snap a pic of my view. I LOVE it!
Now go do something in nature. See if it clears your mind. :-)
Monsters seem to be all the rage these days and these lil' guys look awesome hanging on a wall. Put a brightly colored frame around them and they even look better. If you have a cool artsy house, these are the perfect addition. They would look cool in a kid's room too. These guys are the last of several I made this year. So if you like them, get them now. :-)
I hope to also get some jewelry posted this weekend. So keep a look-out for that :-)
Glitterfest was a success! Thanks to all who came to visit me and a BIG special THANKS to those who made purchases! Purchasing art enables us artists to continue to make art and to keep attending these shows. Yay! Right? Can you imagine a world with no art??? Blech, boring, and really sad.
So now on to the next event: 3rd Friday Art Walk in Phoenix
Again, if you want ART to thrive, please come and visit and spend a few dollars if you're able. :-)
If you can't make it Friday, the 4th Annual Grand Ave Festival is the next day (Saturday). It sounds like a lot of fun and Gallery Michuta (soon to be where Dave Love Nancy) will be open during the festival.
That's all for now. I hope to see you this Friday (Oct 19th) or Saturday (Oct 20th) :-)
I'm back from Halloween and Vine and it was a Great show! Long drive though. 14 hours there and 12 1/2 back....in one weekend....Phew. Next time, I fly and ship everything.
Now for the gallery info. I've teamed up with a few local awesome artists at a little Phoenix gallery called Michuta, soon to be renamed Dave loves Nancy. My first show at the gallery is this coming first Friday, Oct 5 (5! my fave number). I'll be at the gallery every 1st and 3rd Friday.
Sooooo, if you're local or if you're in town, come down and say Hi!
In other news, Glitterfest in Santa Ana, CA is approaching tooooooo FAST. Oct 13th....Eeeek! I'm working like crazy to prepare for all. Definitely not 9 to 5. More like 6 am to 11 pm, 7 days.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you awesome Cali peeps! :-)
Okay, it's 11:05 pm right now. Past my bedtime, but first I must paint one more little skull. So until next time....
One week from today, I will be one of the artist's participating in the wonderful event, Halloween and Vine in Petaluma, CA. I am driving a very long way to participate and would really LOVE if you'd come visit me. It's going to be a GREAT show! Hope to see you there!
